Meet the Doctors
Suzie McCullough • DMD
Dr. McCullough grew up in Birmingham and graduated with a BS in accounting from Birmingham Southern College. She received her degree from University of Alabama School of Dentistry in 2004 and has been practicing with Dr. Stevens since then. Dr. McCullough is a member of the Birmingham District Dental Society, Alabama Dental Association, and American Dental Association. She also holds a certificate from the American Academy of Facial Esthetics for Botox administration. The ability to make patients feel better about themselves is one of the reasons Dr. McCullough chose dentistry. She enjoys customizing treatment for each patient so that they can enjoy a healthy, beautiful mouth and face. Dr. McCullough is active in the community, volunteering her time for fundraising and charity organizations. She is a member at the Cathedral Church of the Advent. She is married to John and together they have four children: Carlisle, Harris, Watkins, and Millie.
Christy Stevens • DMD
Dr. Stevens grew up in Birmingham and comes from a family of dentists. Her father, uncle, and cousin all practice dentistry, so the profession is truly in her genes. She graduated magna cum laude from Washington and Lee University with a B.A. in European History and is a 2002 graduate of the University of Alabama School of Dentistry. Dr. Stevens is a member of the American Dental Association, Alabama Dental Association, and Birmingham District Dental Society. She enjoys making patients feel comfortable about their treatment and helping them understand their treatment choices given all the latest technology in dentistry. Dr. Stevens is married to David and they have 2 girls, Alice and Jennie Ruth, who keep her very busy when she is not at her office.
Meet the Team
Amanda Flynn • RDH
Amanda was born and raised in Trussville, Alabama and counts many of our patients as her neighbors and friends. She has been in dentistry since 1990, when she started working in her uncle’s practice as a dental assistant. After assisting, Amanda completed the Alabama Dental Hygiene Program and has been a hygienist since 2002, working with Dr. McCullough and Dr. Stevens since 2008. Amanda enjoys helping patients feel confident about their smiles and educating them about their oral health. Amanda and her husband, Sam, live in Springville and have a very spoiled Miniature Pincher named Butters.
Telissa Kirk • RDH
Telissa grew up in Trussville and enjoys still being a part of the community where she was raised. After graduating from Hewitt Trussville High School in 1997, she became dental assistant and has been working with Dr. McCullough and Dr. Stevens since 2003. In 2012, Telissa completed the Alabama Dental Hygiene Program and has been educating patients on how to brush and floss ever since. Telissa feels like her patients are her friends and tries to go above and beyond to make sure patients have a great experience and like our practice. Telissa is married to Jonathan, and they feel blessed to have two precious children, Haize and Jerzie.
Connie Shaw • Dental Assistant
A Mississippi native, Connie received her Certificate of Training in Dental Assisting in 1986 from Keesler Air Force base in Biloxi, MS. She was the first civilian accepted into their assisting program, because she demonstrated such a strong interest in dentistry and assisting. Connie moved to Birmingham soon after and has been working with Dr. McCullough and Dr. Stevens since 2003. Connie enjoys making patients feel welcome and easing their anxiety with her gentle, experienced touch. Connie loves to talk about her two wonderful children, Cassaundra and Elliott, and beautiful granddaughter Elisabeth.
Judy Howell • Patient Care Coordinator
Judy grew up in Tallulah, Louisiana with the same contagious smile she has today. She has worked in dentistry for over 30 years and loves to meet and get to know the patients she serves. If you have a question about your insurance or your appointment, chances are Judy has the answer. Judy and her husband, David, live in Birmingham and enjoy traveling and listening to music.
